French home decor in India: makers, materials and practical choices
Choose French ceramics, glassware and textiles for an Indian home: check provenance, dimensions, care and the details of your interiors project.

Choose a piece for a real space
A French-made piece can bring character to a home in India without replacing the whole interior. Start with a particular spot: a console, dining table or reading corner. Measure the available space and decide what the object should do before choosing its colour. A vase that is too tall or a lamp with unsuitable electrical fittings is still the wrong purchase, however attractive its photograph.
French home decor covers very different products. A French brand, a Paris-inspired design and manufacture in France are not equivalent evidence. Compare the exact reference, stated material and maker’s information rather than relying on a style label.
Ceramic, glass or textile: compare the use
Jars vases, La Rochère glass objects and Brun de Vian-Tiran textiles offer three different starting points. Examine a vase’s opening and stability, a glass object’s transparency and what comes with a cushion. A cover is not necessarily a filled cushion, and a photograph of several objects does not make them a set.
For an air-conditioned room, covered terrace or humid home, consider the actual placement and the model’s care instructions. Do not infer outdoor suitability or machine washing from a material alone. A sample or first piece helps you judge the colour in your own light.
From Mumbai to Bengaluru: specify the destination
Include your city, postcode and building type in an enquiry. Delivery to a Mumbai apartment, a Delhi NCR villa or a Bengaluru project involves more than a country name. Access, parcel count, fragile items and the requested date should be part of the quotation.
A European catalogue price is not a delivered price for India. Ask for transport, insurance, any import formalities and damaged-parcel handling to be clarified before payment. A brand’s presence on an Indian website does not establish local availability for every model shown on Lumodom.
Build a coherent shortlist
Keep the palette focused and vary textures instead of buying many unrelated pieces. A vase, a textile and a table accessory can share a colour or material without matching exactly. Save references and dimensions in a shortlist so that future additions have a clear starting point.
- Check product origin and reference, not just the brand’s nationality.
- Confirm included items and measure the intended location.
- Request written delivery and care terms before ordering.
Common questions
Is everything sold by a French brand made in France?
Not necessarily. Check the stated origin of the exact reference. The brand name or a French country style is not enough.
Does the displayed price tell me the delivered cost in India?
No. Transport and import terms need a proposal for your address and chosen items.
